The Impossible Airplane Has Its Wings, and You're Invited to See It!

Patrick Chamberlain and S.R. check to make sure the correct bolts, washers, bushings, and nuts are being used to secure the seatbelts in The Impossible Airplane.

When you're building an airplane, progress doesn't always look particularly dramatic. A new bracket, a completed section of wiring, or another modification to the flight controls might represent weeks of work, but they don't necessarily make for exciting photographs.

October was different!

On October 3, The Impossible Airplane reached a major milestone when its wings were attached for the first time. With the tail now in place as well, our RV-10 is finally looking like the airplane we've spent years working toward.

For Jessica and the many people who have contributed to this project, seeing the airplane come together has been especially rewarding. What started as a collection of parts, engineering drawings, and some ambitious ideas is becoming something very real.

Of course, an airplane that looks complete isn't necessarily ready to fly. Our team is continuing with final assembly and the custom modifications that will allow Jessica Cox, the world's first licensed pilot without arms, to operate the aircraft using her feet. There's still work ahead, but we're getting closer.

Come See The Impossible Airplane!

We're excited to announce that The Impossible Airplane will be on public display for the first time on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at Falcon Field in Mesa, Arizona!

The Arizona Aviation Historical Group (AAHG) and RFI are hosting a special fundraising evening featuring Jessica Cox. Along with seeing a world's first airplane up close, guests will hear from Jessica about her aviation journey and the mission behind this project.

This will be our first opportunity to share the actual airplane with the public, including many of you who have followed the project through years of photos, videos, and build updates.

We'd love to have you join us for this milestone and help support the next chapter of The Impossible Airplane.

Tickets are available now, with online sales closing November 6.
